NK9G/7Rick McGaver50-64 DegSingle Op Field 4021013440Realizing that conditions are less than optimum for me it’s about getting out and operating. Worked NY, NH & FL so conditions were not the worst. Being out in the Mountains away from noise I had little to no noise. In fact many were very weak but the KX3 did the job. Antennas: 88’ doublet @ 44’ and QRP GUYS 20-30-40 Vertical elevated feed point at 6’. Bottom line, it’s all about the ANTENNA
W0ITTGary Freeman30-39 Deg FSingle Op Field 18141008164Finger Lakes State Park in Missouri was still mostly frozen and therefore mostly deserted (I had fun explaining FYBO to the Park Ranger). Mountain Topper on a 9v battery, 2 watts to EFHW sloper antenna on a 20' pole. On the air about 4 hours, conditions better than expected. I look forward to next time, thanks to everyone who worked me. 72 de Gary W0ITT
NE5DLDave50-64 DegSingle Op Field  33201005380Operated from the garage with EFHW inverted L at 30 ft on the front lawn, KX3/PX3. More Qs than I expected. worked some familiar ops, WV0H, W1PID, N2CX, NA5N. Got up to 65 here in TX but started ot at 55, fun FYBO.
VE3DQNDon<20 Deg FSingle Op Field 1291005284My new definition of FYBO is Freeze Your Brain Off. Why else would I go out to play radio in 15F temps while it's snowing? I'm fairly new to portable ops, so now I know more what works, what doesn't. Tnx to all who pulled me out.

AB9CA/7Dave50-64 DegSingle Op Field  301503600Set up in Tucson Mtn Park about a mile's walk from my RV. Was one band only, 20m. Mostly worked MNQP and SOTA. But returned often to the FYBO freqs and found a few. Only 1 Q from CQ'ing, all others S&P. Rig was K1 at 5w. Power was 10 pack of AA batts. Ant was 20m vertical.
KE8EASJoshua Cash20-29 Deg FSingle Op Field 14502800Setup shop at Lake Alma State Park in Ohio (K-1967). Heard several FYBO stations on 20 meters, but most were too weak to pull through. Had a great time!
NA5NPaul Harden50-64 DegSingle Op Field 131202496Just set up on a table behind my rural NM home using KX2 and my portable inv. vee. Operated from 53-64*F, so quite comfortable. Of course, hot coffee not far away. Most QSOs on 20, which came in waves of activity then nothing for long stretches. Selective propagation as could hear FYBO stations but not the fella being worked. TNX AZ SQRPions and participants, had fun as usual. CU next year.
K3CODRob Bergmueller40-49 Deg FMulti-Multi Field  16121002404Fun contest. Propagation seemed better this year than in the past. Thanks to the organizers!
WD8RIFEric McFadden30-39 Deg FSingle Op Field  121001920Had a great time participating in FYBO while simultaneously performing a Parks on the Air activation of Lake Alma State Park (K-1967) in southeastern Ohio. Although I would have liked to have earned the x5 multiplier for temps in the 20s, I was very happy the polar vortex had moved on!
N5GWGene>64 Deg FSingle Op Home 48181001828Thank God for MNQP, VTQP, BCQP, SOTA, POTA, SKCC & reg QSO's or would only have 15 contacts!
WA5BDUNick Kennedy50-64 DegSingle Op Field  17121001732Set up near a little lake close to my new house at Bella Vista, AR. Put up an EFHW and used the KX3. Conditions not great but good enough to have a little fun.
AB8DFEd Kwik<20 Deg FSingle Op Field 551001300Operated from Dodge State Park in Waterford, MI. The day before we had a high of 13 degrees. The morning of FYBO it was up to 16 degrees. Operated from the CRV in the park parking lot. Forgot the need coax adapter for the mag mount hamstick antenna so i got on the air late. Had to launch my 40 meter end fed up into a tree before I could get on the air. Used K2 at 5 watts and gel cell battery
AF4OChuck50-64 DegSingle Op Field 66100676Quality contacts, all of them. All FYBO contacts. Setup in new city park. Its mostly a rural park with a gravel walking path. Nice day, light winds, sunny.
K7IIIJason30-39 Deg FSingle Op Field 52100420I used a sloping EFHW to a tree at a park.
N5IBJim Giammanco>64 Deg FSingle Op Home  177100219Just getting over a cold/flu bug, so didn't risk even a sunny Louisiana winter day. Cozy 70F in the den, with mug of tea nearby. Most QSOs were with non FYBO ops, MN QP and BC QP. 40m, 20m, and a couple on 15m. K2 @ 5W to 40/20 fan dipole at 25 ft
N8ZP/5Dan Pope50-64 DegSingle Op Home 64100196Hung G5RV as inverted V from 18 ft paint pole strapped to side of deck in Sun City TX. Argosy VI, Gel Cell, Ham-Key.
WB3GCKCraig LaBarge>64 Deg FSingle Op Home 1180176I was doing "grandparent duty" at my daughter's house and tossed a wire out a window to get on the air for a bit. It was nice to actually work some FYBO stations this year. The grandkids limited my operating time but I'm good with that. :-)
WA9PWPPaul Goemans50-64 DegSingle Op Home  880128Only operated a short time. Glad to find activity.

WA4AAKEvan50-64 DegSingle Op Field 22064Feel a little guilty about claiming FYBO under sunny skies, 60 deg. F! But not too guilty! Many thanks to W0ITT (40m) and WB5CTS/m (20m) - super CW ops! Setup: Monte Sano State Park, Alabama, 5W, 33' end-fed wire. C U for FYBO 2020! Tnx, AZscQRPions.
AL7JKJohn<20 Deg FSingle Op Field 11048Drove up on the hillside overlooking Eagle River valley in Chugach State Park, walked out into the brush/alders since the snow isnt that deep this year. Strung up a whole bunch of magnet wire as I walked along ( its on an old fly fishing reel ) at 3500 ft elevation. Used a LNR precision mtr4b, powered by 6 AA batteries & a elecraft t1 tuner on 20 mtrs. Made one qso, RD0F in Yuzhno, Sakhalinsk. 73
